About The Foundation

The Honor Great Sacrifice Foundation (HGSF) is the effort of U.S. Marine Corps veteran Jason Duren and his brother Josh Duren. The brothers opened Cider Corps, a craft cidery in Mesa, Arizona, in 2017 and quickly saw their vision of an open and supportive space for veterans and community come to life in the taproom.

In the Cider Corps taproom, Jason and Josh met individuals and local organizations making a difference in others’ lives through small and focused efforts. They also met regional and national foundations making impacts in research and mental health support. As the cider business grew, they used their local recognition to provide a voice to these efforts and causes with events, collaborations, and messages of support.

Cider making had started as a healing hobby for Jason after injuries sustained serving in Afghanistan. The cider taproom became a way to pass that message of encouragement to others. Jason and Josh knew a non-profit would be the next step in the pair’s commitment to honor great sacrifice.

The HGSF received its 501(c)(3) non-profit designation in 2025. Its purpose is to support veterans and families through community and causes. With events, collaborations and fundraisers, the HGSF is dedicated to building partnerships to provide long-lasting support to the veteran community.
